Juan Sebastián Fernández

About Juan Sebastián

Much of Colombian photographer Juan Sebastián Fernández' work is strongly influenced by what he calls the “modern tradition of magical realism.” This literary trend that inspires the photographer comes from authors such as Gabriel García Márquez and Isabel Allende, who in his words “interweave elements of mythology and realism based on their own experiences”.

His photographic works are the result of a study of the human form, where the body has been completely deconstructed by the artist, who then goes on to carry out a reconstruction process, through which he freezes the movements and creates “an introspection on the profound human delicacy and the eternal flow of external and internal changes”.
